Why Is The Resurrection Of Jesus Important?
The Historical Resurrection Of Jesus. Jesus' resurrection is
many times thought of in abstract terms or just treated as a
form of a holiday with the celebration of Easter each year. In
reality it is the most important historical event that has ever
occurred in the world. This unique historical event consisted of
Jesus, in human form, dying on the cross and then three days
later being resurrected from the dead to live forever. As Jesus
was in human form, His resurrection proved that man can ...

A Secular or Religious Government
If you're setting up a country, who would you like to govern it? Would you like a secular country or one basically controlled by a particular religion? By secular I mean one who allows all religions freedom to practice their own faith without infringing upon the rights of others to practice theirs, but at the same time controlling or governing the earthly part of their lives.
To begin with one has to examine the various countries around the world and to see how they're governed. Most countries ...

Building a Church and Church Building Designs
a href="http://churchfurniture.christianet.com/">Building a
church is a large project that is more than constructing
natural materials, because building a church is building an
expression of a church congregation's heart. Building a church
has a purpose that is much more than housing classrooms or
meeting rooms. Building a church is building a sanctuary, a
refuge that has eternal purposes. This is why it is important
for any congregation of people considering building a church to
thoroughly ...

Blind Faith
Is christianity blind faith?
Today I would like to talk about faith. Now when I tried to share Christianity with people I've heard often experienced a similar response. "well I can't follow your religion because it is blind following, it is blind faith so I can't follow that religion. This is a very common reply but one that I believe doesn't really make sense if it is dissolved.
First of all what is faith. Well according to the bible, Hebrew 11:1, "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for ...

Reforming the State-Church
More and more people are becoming acquainted with at least some
of the perils associated with organizing a church or ministry as
a "tax-exempt religious organization." Not the least of these
perils is the obvious answer to the question asked by Attorney
Charles Crismier, "Have we become so dependent on the government
and its perks that we have been seduced from God and His power?"
(Lifegate 4/2000, p. 5). Most typically, this is done by
incorporating and receiving an IRS 501c3 tax-exempt ...

Expand Your Church's Search Engine Reach!
One of the main goals of a Church web site is usually to attract
the attention and interest of people who are "church shopping".
There are many ways to do that, (which we will cover at a later
date), but one of the problems many churches in urban areas run
in to is the geographical scope of the visitors they want to
attract.
If you are in a suburban area, you don't really want to only
have your site pop up in search engines for your town, do you?
Of course not! I would bet many of your members ...

An introduction to Roman Catholicism
Catholic is a Greek word derived from word "universal", in it most fundamental form, to be Catholic means you belong to the universal church, this is a theory, including all of Christianity. However, due to the many breaks, which snowed under the history of the Christian faith, Roman Catholicism has of necessity urbanized a more definite meaning.
Roman Catholicism has been recognized as Christian Church in full unity with the Bishop of Rome, or else acknowledged as the Pope in the Vatican. It ...

Church Fundraising - Make a Connection
Church Fundraising - Make a Connection
by Kimberly Reynolds
Raising money for your church is an important task that deserves
the best approach. This article examines campaigns based around
donor recognition that aim to strengthen community ties with
your church.
What does advertising do to help make a business successful?
They build brand awareness. Your fundraising needs to build your
church's "brand" by reinforcing the message of who you are and

Religion and Peace
As I write this, it is Easter Sunday in the Christian calendar. I was intrigued to read the ideas of Marshall Breger, professor of law at the Catholic University of America, reprinted in Utne Reader from Moment, an independent magazine of Jewish politics, culture, and religion, on statecraft, diplomacy and religion. First I must cop to my own religious status. I would call myself an omnireligionist despite being an ordained minister with a doctorate in divinity. Translation: I don't really ...

'Essence of Worship' (continued)
The essence of worship is where it's at. I think you will agree
with this statement if you read the first part of this document.
So let's move on. We've been talking about the localized and
institutionalized worship of the Old Testament having been
delocalized and deinstitutionalized in the New Testament because
the saints worship God in spirit and truth. We see further
evidence of ...

A Live Church -- Or A Dead One?
Have you ever stopped to consider what kind of church your
congregation is ' alive or dead? Does your congregation put
forth the sense of one that is alive in its service to and
worship of God? Or does your congregation put forth the sense
that it is just hanging on, waiting for the last nail to be
driven into the "coffin?" I would like to suggest some
characteristics of a church that is alive, on fire for God. And
then contrast that with the characteristics of a church that is
dying.
Live ...

Faith Coupled with'
Faith is substance, says Hebrews 11:1. The word 'substance' is
important when considering the concept of faith. Faith by itself
can be arrogant. Faith coupled with love is powerful. Faith
mixed with patience and love and connected to the Word (Jesus)
is life changing.
Faith is merely trusting in God, no matter what comes my way.
But, faith is only a channel through which God blesses me. ...

Churches In Crisis
The Bible teaches that Christians ought to practice a single
faith. It reads: "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye
are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one
baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and
through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:4-6). Yet, today,
every man does what is right in his own eyes. What's the
solution? Pastors and elders must set the church in order.
The apostles did not lay down different worship patterns at the
various ...

Why should an atheist pay more taxes so that a church which he
despises should pay no taxes? That's a fair question. How can

Sex and Religion: having faith in both
There are some things people learn from their parents and some things they learn in church, but learning about sex is usually accomplished via the self-study method. We just have to have faith that what we learn about sex is appropriate and in keeping with the teachings of God.
The good part is that most of us have a natural proclivity for procreation, and thus are following in the footsteps of God. After all He did make all of us in His image, didn't ...

When I was young, I used to love to go to Sunday school just because I loved to hear the Bible stories. Quite honestly, even at a young age, I realized the church we went to was full of hypocrites, but that didn't stop me from learning and enjoying the stories that were presented to me. Today, I don't often attend church because most of the ones I have encountered are just as bad as the first one, and I certainly don't think worshipping with a bunch of hypocrites each Sunday is going to save my ...

In Christianity, orthodox Christianity ascertains the importance of baptisms or christenings to be astronomically important. This rite is a very popular one practiced across the globe. Water is poured over the baby's head. The basic tenets and general guidelines of the Christian faith are instilled through further instruction, teaching, and schooling in the Christian faith after the baptism takes place. The luncheon or dance typically follows the christening. Christening invitations should ...
